For reasons that become obvious one of our favorite stops each year is in Ocean Outfitters in Wildwood Crest, NJ. Ocean Outfitters is owned by Jeff Walden, unfortunately no relation to Steve but the Walden's feel like surf shop family to us. Jeff's beautiful girls Julia 11 and kiki 3 are already experienced SUP'ers like dad. Ocean Outfitters just blocks from the beach runs one of the biggest surf camps in South Jersey with an amazing team of instructors who have a combined 20 years of surf instruction.Each instructor is certified in Advanced First Aid, CPR and lifeguard spinal management. Colleeen and Dean usually head up the camp, although this summer Colleen will be watching from the sidelines because she is due to give birth in 8 weeks!
Ocean Outfitters is family friendly shop with all the core equipment including SUP's, Longboards and shortboard as well as the fun stuff and essentials like beach chairs, flip flops and sunblock. Ocean Outfitters has a great selection of Walden's including the now hard to find Walden fish and original Walden wahine. Ocean Outfitters is a Walden custom dealer as well, if by slim chance you don't see what you want on his rack you can order a completely custom Walden board through the shop.
